I love you Wilder!

This morning as I was putting Wilder's shoes on he said several times "no mommy, Wilder stay home." Broke my heart! How do you explain to a two year old that mommy has to go to work?

Also, as a mom do you ever anticipate times when they're older that you know your heart will hurt for them? I get nervous just thinking about it. I'm not ready. I know at some point he will have his heart broken, get bullied, and not get picked for the team. I know, all a part of life and necessary for growth...but can we just skip those parts please?

Prepare yourself. I STILL ache for my sons when they're hurt. As someone wisely said, "A mother is only as happy as her saddest child." Dad's are much better at separating their feelings from those of their children. Or maybe they're just good at pretending!

Shelly! I'm behind on comments, once again. Here it goes...

1. You're SO right about me not wearing shorts. I hadn't worn shorts (on a regular basis), since about 2001. Don't know why, I've just never liked them. I'm such a jeans girl. However, last summer, I purchased my favorite-ever pair of shorts, and I wore them quite enthusiastically. In addition, I developed a liking for skirts/summer dresses. I guess that's what having a child + 100 degree days does does a girl. ;)

2. Love, love the creative play!

3. THANK YOU so much for the card! It was so cute and your note inside truly brightened my day. I enjoy our friendship so much, and I'm really grateful for it!

4. What about Wilder's glasses? Does he have them yet? I can't wait to see him :)

5. I hope we didn't scare you off with Miles' crazy day last week. He was off of his normal schedule, having missed his morning nap time by about an hour. In addition, I don't think he's ready for 'alone' playtime, with other kiddos. Even though we were in the next room, I should have been there watching for him more closely, so that I could have re-directed when he began wallering Wilder. I hope you'll come back ;)

6. Miss Gwyn is a cutie-pants. I love the way you dress her. She's got a pinch of the old soul vibe that you illuminate ;)

7. Love the pictures that you've posted, and yes, it is difficult to comprehend making it through your child's difficult times. It breaks my heart to think of Miles ever feeling left out. In addition, it drives me crazy to see him in his 'assertive' phase, and I'm hoping it's got to be a phase...right?!

Hope you're having a great week...talk soon!
